I’d been feeling ratty all day. After a fun but soggy morning playing footy, the boys were scrapping and play fighting allllll day and as it got to 4pm I quite honestly felt like smashing a gin (or 6)…
…BUT… through training my brain over the years to be more aware of my feelings and actions, my husband helped me rig up the wind trainer to smash out a few kms instead.
I felt sooooo much better, and yes I still had a gin - but one, not half the bottle!
It’s not that I’m hardcore healthy or more motivated than others, it’s just through managing my dysfunctional relationship with food, drink and exercise that I had for over 20 years, awareness is a skill I have mastered which allows me to make a conscious choice to do something different in the moment.
The good news is, awareness is a learnt skill and you can master it too.
No diets. No deprivation, no giving up drinking. No bullsh*t. Just mastering your mind!
